Tunde Adesokan

Tunde is a dual-qualified commercial lawyer with particular expertise in shipping, commodities, and aviation law. In these areas, Tunde provides both transactional and disputes resolution assistance.

He advises clients on all aspects of maritime law (both dry and wet) and has assisted clients on a range of shipping matters – from charterparty and bill of lading disputes to piracy, collision, general average and salvage matters. He also regularly advises on ship sale and purchase, tax, licensing and regulatory matters.


Tunde also frequently advises downstream national and international oil companies and traders, national and international insurance companies and oil and gas servicing companies on their Nigerian law and English law related matters.

He is able to advise on both Nigerian and English law matters and maintains valid practising certificates from both the Nigerian Bar Association and the Law Society of England and Wales. From a disputes perspective, Tunde has advised on litigation before courts at all levels in both England and Nigeria. He has also been retained as counsel in LMAA, LCIA and ICC arbitrations.



Tunde’s clients, over two decades of practice, have included, amongst others, ship owners, charterers, P&I Clubs, Hull & Machinery insurers, national and international oil companies, aviation insurers.



Tunde worked for several years in the London and Paris offices of a leading multinational law firm before relocating to Nigeria. In Nigeria, he worked for a top tier energy and maritime law firm before setting up AALP.
Outside work, Tunde is a struggling golfer and enjoys grilling and football.
